My Review

“If you run, I’ll just chase you.”

Consumed is book 2 in the Collide series. I enjoyed reading book 1 in this series.  However, I fell in love with Jax in this book, and felt that J. C. Hannigan wrote this in a style that far surpassed Collide.

“Your skeletons don’t scare me.”

Harlow is living in Ottawa and continues to have a bond with Jenna.  They now live together and have a tight friendship. Although Harlow continues to be the smart and brassy young woman we found her to be in Collide, she has finally met her match in Jax.  He is self-assured and knows what he wants. It’s not too many pages into the story that we see he wants Harlow and will stop at nothing to convince her of his true and pure intentions.

“Actions equaled consequences.”

Told in first person point of view from Harlow, J. C. Hannigan did a great job reintroducing book one with just enough details to refresh my memory of the characters and highlights from Collide.  From there, it was a journey into new and untold facts.  The thing that I found most fascinating was the stark contrast between Harlow’s love relationship and interest in this story versus her experience of early love in Collide. She was allowed to be open in her feelings and affections, and this was equally returned by Jax.  He was truly a male character that did all the right things and made me swoon with each move he made.  I am so happy to have had the opportunity to read this series and look forward to more books by this author.

“I like the view from here.”
