Synopsis

I try to forget her.
It’s impossible.

Growing up together, Conor and I shared all our firsts.
First love, first kiss, first…
Not all our firsts.

We were sixteen the night she was violently assaulted while I helplessly watched.
I’ll never forget the sounds of her suffering.
Or my inconsolable agony when she left Oklahoma.

Years later, she returns to honor our teenage pact.
Except the boy she loved is gone, replaced by a ruthless cattle rancher knotted with secrets.
She doesn’t know my dark cravings or the trails of sin that lead to her.

I don’t deserve her, but one truth remains.
She’s mine.

My Review

Knotted by Author Pam Godwin is book one in the Trails of Sin series. It is a forbidden, dark, and oh-so-hot cowboy romance.

“Not everything’s meant to be, but Jake and I are inevitable. We’re knotted together, and da** if he doesn’t know how to tie a knot that withstands the test of time.”

Even as teenagers, Jake and Conor are the centers of each other’s worlds. Their families have always been close. But Jake And Conor have a bond that goes beyond their families and their ranch.

“I’m going to trespass all over your nightmares and walk through them with you for as long as it takes.”

Wow! Here’s to story openers that make us lose our mind and rip at the pages to get more. This entire novel took me completely by surprise. In my mind, this was going to be a dark and sexy, make-me-pant read. Without a doubt, there were definitely moments like this. But, tragedy was the accelerant that fueled the characters in this story as deep secrets surfaced like the waves during a fierce storm.

“My girl is sunshine, rawhide, and pure fight.”

Conor was a heroine to be revered. In spite of the anguish she had experienced, she fought hard to maintain self-worth and to focus on her goals. Her motivation and willpower were inspiring.

“He flexes. Not his muscles. He flexes his d*** aura and stares me down like he’s aiming to hogtie and brand me.”

Jake was a totally different character. I had moments where I questioned my affections for him; he was so confusing. I hated that he made major life decisions for Conor. But, when I understood why, I grew to love him. Seriously, swoon-hard-and-cheer-him-on, love him.

“You don’t need me to fix you. You need me to sit with you in the sadness.”

My emotions swam in my eyes throughout the biggest part of this novel, sadness and memories making tears spill over. The balm came in the form of unshakeable care, tenderness, and hard love that nurtured and provided healing.

“He’s fire and ruthlessness, and I’m desperate to be burned and consumed.”

I’m ready for more hot cowboys! Bring on Buckled.

About Pam Godwin

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, Pam Godwin, lives in the Midwest with her

husband, their two children, and a foulmouthed parrot. When she ran away, she traveled fourteen

Java, tobacco, and dark romance novels are her favorite indulgences, and might be considered

more unhealthy than her aversion to sleeping, eating meat, and dolls with blinking eyes.
