Synopsis

Chloe Madison. That's me. A former NYU princess who fell from grace, right off my pampered Manhattan throne and onto the unforgiving steps of Nicole Brantley, socialite and queen bitch. Now, I walked her dog and mixed her smoothies. Tried to navigate my own problems while fixing all of hers.

I wanted what every New York girl did. A career, an apartment, and true love, preferably in a smoking hot package.

It turned out ... I'd have to fight for all of it.

I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

My Review

“I believed half of the beauty of love was in the loving.”

Love, Chloe is a new standalone contemporary romance novel by Author Alessandra Torre.

“I beat on the glass of my old world and desperately wanted back in, each day in my new life more discouraging, the varnish of my prior life rubbing off, a new Chloe emerging. I didn’t want her-I only wanted the past.”

Chloe, the girl with everything, had suddenly become the girl with nothing. She’s had an impeccable run of luck, if you count bad luck in that category.  Now disillusioned by the world around her, she struggles to discover what is real in her world and what has been a myth of the past. She will meet many people along the way who help shape her path. She will also engage those whom she has known, acknowledging things in them that will pace her steps on this journey of change.

“I lost word, I lost thought, I lost every single piece of myself.”

I love to fall into a book like I would my comfy reading chair, you know, the one you never want to leave.  Love, Chloe was one of those books that I opened and wanted to hold onto because it felt so good from the very start; it was a light but captivating story.  Chloe was a star in a sky filled with millions of other celestial bodies, drifting and lost trying to find her way and be a stand-out. Her “big bang” of change was the prominent theme of the story.  But, intermingled with that were many fascinating sub-plots that continued to surreptitiously entwine themselves around her, creating this little cosmo, of which she was the epicenter. The friends, foes, fumbles, and frivolity written into the story by Author Alessandra Torre came together to make this an inspiring and sweet love story, showing a wonderful metamorphosis for Chloe and Carter.

“I might have to dip my toe into that pool once or twice. Just to taste that poison. Just to have it on my skin.”
