Synopsis

Baseball isn’t supposed to be a game of life and death…

The summer that Chase Stern entered my life, I was seventeen. The daughter of a legend, the Yankees were my family, their stadium my home, their dugout my workplace. My focus was on the game. Chase … he started out as a distraction. A distraction with sex appeal poured into every inch of his six foot frame. A distraction who played like a god and partied like a devil.

I tried to stay away. I couldn’t.

Then, the team started losing.
Women started dying.
And everything in my world broke apart.

My Review

“Baseball shouldn’t be life or death. Baseball shouldn’t determine fates.”

Moonshot by Alessandra Torre is a standalone, sports romance novel…with a twist (or two).

“…he was a longshot. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t come out on top.”

Chase and Ty are both submerged in the baseball world in their own ways, Chase as a player and Ty as the coach’s daughter. Ty is taboo to any of the players on the team. Hands off. Don’t touch. Major temptation.

“Certain loves can’t be fought. The harder you tried, the harder you would be knocked back, over and over again, until it beat you into submission, until your heart caved and body surrendered.”

Wow!  This was not at all what I was expecting. I am a huge Alessandra Torre fan. I love her writing style. It always brings the story to life, drawing me in and keeping me glued.  I did have some difficulty getting into the first part of Moonshot as the points of view constantly changed, making my head swim a bit. However, when I got a grip on the characters and settings, the story took on a new light. Then, in true Alessandra Torre fashion, I got hit with one “what the heck” after the next, while trying to protect my Kindle from the inevitable moment of it taking flight. The characters took on such unfathomable changes and I found myself picking my jaw up off of the floor. Add in the mystery, romance, and suspense, and Moonshot was a sure hit out of the ballpark.

“…I climbed into heaven and fell back down a different woman.”
