Synopsis

Perfect ass.

Perfect arms.

Perfect swagger.

They call Dash Wallace the Diamond King.

He’s the hottest commodity in baseball and in the bedroom.

When he runs the bases, every woman’s eyes are glued to his stunning body and a smile that puts the night lights to shame.

I’m no queen. I’m a regular girl with a regular job. I just watch him on TV and from the bleachers, season after season.

Girls like me grab a guy like that one in a million times.

My number just came up, and he is as spectacular in bed as he is on the field.

But there’s not a woman in the world who can distract Dash Wallace from the game. Not for a moment. Not even me.

Until the night I do. And everything changes.

My Review

HardBall is the newest standalone novel by Author C. D. Reiss. It is a Contemporary Romance sports novel.

“He’d opened me as if I had a latch and hinges.”

Vivian is a teacher and takes that job very seriously. Molding small minds is her passion. Outside of that, she is a rather low-key young woman.

“Limits and Lids. I imposed limits and kept the lid on emotional highs and lows.”

Dash is much like other professional athletes. He is structured and routine oriented. It’s how he succeeds, what makes him great at his game, on and off the field.

“Do you want to come in? I won’t bite unless you ask me to.”

This was the story of Vivian and Dash. Wanting something they felt they couldn’t have, keeping it at arm’s length, far enough away that it wasn’t easy, close enough they could still touch.

“Shakespeare didn’t have enough words to describe how delicious you are.”

Told in dual points of view, HardBall was a sexy and fast read. Dash was the epitome of male hotness He was sexy, athletic, educated, and had a mouth that was full of amazements. Vivian delightfully added spice to his life, making what was once predictable and routine become new and fresh. They had fun friends and fast times that carried throughout the story, making it an easy and enjoyable read. No huge angst, just snark, sex, and savoring love. A great sports romance to escape into.

“I own the world with you by my side.”

About C. D. Reiss

CD Reiss is a USA Today bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.
