Synopsis

Two lies.
Two men who don't share.

I never stopped loving Cole. Not when he left me. Not when he disappeared for three years. Not when he crashed back into my life in a violent explosion of testosterone and fury.
His sudden reappearance questions everything I thought I knew, including how I came to love another man.

Trace is an intoxicating breeze of seduction over ice. My rock. My second chance at forever.
And he's committed to annihilating the competition.

The battle that ensues wrenches me back and forth between them.
Fighting and f*cking.
Resisting and submitting.

Together, they entangle me in a web of lies, rivalry, and desire that weaves as deeply as their devotion to me.

I love two men, and if I can only have one, I choose none.

My Review

Two is a Lie by by Author Pam Godwin is book two in the Tangled Lies series. It is a love triangle, forbidden romance novel.

“I don’t understand the enigma of love, only that it holds me hostage, cares for and worships me, abandons and breaks me, and always lures me back for more. I’m greedy for it. For him.”

We were left dangling over the cliffs of Hades in book one. And now, Cole, Trace, and Danni are back. My fears…choices will be made, decisions will be reached, lives will be changed, hearts broken. The reality…so much more than my fears.

“It feels as though I have two hearts, and I’m waiting for someone to tell me I have to rip one out and hand it over. And it’s going to hurt like hell.”

The pinnacle of angst was the best way to describe what filled the pages of this novel. This installment of the Tangled Lies series was an unraveling to my psyche and heart. I didn’t envy Danni in the least. I couldn’t wrap my mind around the choice she was being forced to make. Loving two men, through no fault of her own, and having to choose sides, pick which part of you should die, it was so overwhelming. But, so was the grief that clawed its way at Trace and Cole. They had so much to lose. It was a constant rollercoaster of emotions.

“Whenever you feel sad, do a little dance. Shake it out.”

Based on this quote, I was pretty much forcing myself to dance this entire story. Does that tell you anything? I surely could not keep my crap together, which was a mirror of emotions from the book in front of me. And the only conclusion I could come up with is that Author Pam Godwin needed to turn this into a ménage romance, because I thought that was the only solution I could handle. It was pure torture.

“Love is a deep breath with wings. It flutters in the chest, swooping and dancing to the beat of the heart. Without it, I feel strangled and lifeless. Without them, I might never breathe again.”

It was not helpful, AT ALL, that both Trace and Cole dripped with sexual appeal and alpha-male tendencies. They’d make any woman’s heart race and clothes drop. Their intensity and devotion set me on fire. Their love increased the rhythm of my pulse. And their tenacity made me swoon…repeatedly…over and over again.

“I want to be your lover, your husband, your home. I want to be your everything.”

Everything about Two is a Lie made me crave more and beg for answers. But I have to be honest, I’m still #teamcoleandtrace. Can’t choose. Don’t want to have to. Someone hold my hand as we wait for book three.

“Loving you is easy. Everything else… Well, if it gets too hard…I’ll just love you harder.”
