What if your soul is so intertwined with someone else's that it's impossible to imagine yourself without them?

Blake McIntyre and Liane Kelly’s families have spent their vacations together on Sanibel Island their entire lives, and the two have always been the best of friends. But as they get ready to go to college, they admit that friendship isn’t enough for them anymore and spend a whirlwind two weeks daring to dream of their future together.

But building sandcastles and lazy beach walks filled with moonlight kisses isn't the same as real life, and soon they are faced with a new reality. Can their hope of forever survive past their summer, or does fate have its own twisted plan?

I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Guest Review by Melody Dawn

I began reading Twisted Souls by L.L. Collins with some trepidation…I don’t know why…I think it’s because I knew it was going to be one of those books when you feel like your heart is being ripped from your chest and there is some major ugly crying going on. And yep…that’s exactly what happened. In Twisted Souls, we have a love triangle of sorts. First, there is Blake and Liane who have been friends from practically birth and begin having feelings for each other around age 14. Blake was the one to admit it while Liane ran because she was afraid she would lose her best friend. She begins dating Ronan Collier and does not see Blake in the summer time at their usual beach vacations because she is avoiding him. After high school graduation, Ronan breaks up with her saying that even though they were soul mates, they needed a break. God, I hate that phrase! You don’t need a break from the person you are calling your soul mate. Yes, they are young, but if he is already succumbing to pressure this early, I don’t see a big hope for them in the future. Taking her broken heart with her, Liane finally goes back to the beach and sees Blake for the first time  in a couple of years. Before you know it, they are a couple and though I wanted to be happy for them, I could feel a huge heartbreak coming. They agree to try a long distance relationship, but of course, Ronan decides he isn’t going to give up. I’m not going to give away spoilers, but let’s just say Ronan looks like he is the winner in who gets Liane. I can’t help but wonder though if things are not what they seem as there is a sequel called Twisted Paths.

I personally can’t stand Ronan and hope to God, he gets what is coming to him. But, that’s just my opinion. I really liked this book although right now I have a heavy feeling in my chest, just like I knew I was going to. Its really a great book, but be prepared to have some tissues with you when you read it. I’m going to give it 5 stars because other than Liane ending up with who I call the wrong guy, I think L.L. Collins did a great job. I am looking forward to reading Twisting Paths and I hope there is a happily ever after…I really really do.

Stepping into the warm water with her, I need her like I need my next breath. I snake my arms around her and pull her to me. I can’t stop the groan that comes out when her wet skin hits mine. I’m a guy; I know all about showers. However, a shower with Liane is beyond my wildest fantasies. Our tongues come together as I step us backwards and press her gently into the wall, hoping it’s not cold. She doesn’t make a sound, so she either doesn’t care or it’s warm enough. I smooth her wet hair away from her face as I deepen our kiss, tilting my head so I can tell her everything I want with my mouth.

She moans, her hands finding me and making my eyes roll in my head. Yeah, this entire night is going to be what saves me for the next few months, thinking about all of this right here. I slow down our kiss and pull away, putting my lips at her ears. “Wanna race?” I tease. I love playing with her; it’s one of my favorite things to do.

“Race?” She looks at me, a gleam in her eye. “We’re starting a new kind of race?” Her hands are still caressing me, and I can barely form words at the sensation.

“Yeah,” I mutter, putting my hands over hers so she will stop for a second. “We’ve raced our whole lives, right? It’s part of who we are. So why not have a race now?”

“What are we racing to?” She looks me up and down, her eyes stopping at the evidence of my desire for her.

I lean over and whisper in her ear, and she giggles, looking up at me with wide eyes. “Really? And what does the winner—or loser—get?”

I wink at her. “The winner gets to pick the next location.” She gets exactly what I mean, and I see the competitive gleam come into her eye.

“Well, let the best man—or in this case, woman—win,” she says. All I know is, I’m not losing because I already have the grand prize. Her.
