Kennedy Cross had her heart broken early in life. It wasn't someone or something who betrayed her—it was her own body. Despite it being all she’s ever wanted, Kennedy will never know what it feels like to feel her baby’s feet kick from the inside out. Having been pronounced infertile at only eighteen, she redirected her life the best way she could.

Eight years and a degree later, Kennedy is one of the most well-loved first-grade teachers at Rock Falls Elementary School. It doesn’t matter that her college boyfriend left her because he wanted children of his own. She has twenty-two of the most gorgeous six-year-olds who adore her and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Jackson Steele deals only in extremes. He falls victim to manic episodes lasting for days, sometimes weeks at a time, sending him reeling from volatile highs to devastating lows. It’s a living hell just being inside his own mind, and that hell has taken everything he’s ever loved away from him. But what if, this time, it gives him something? An untimely gift from God and a brunette with legs eight miles long will bring him the most unforeseen joy but also his most challenging of tests.

What happens when circumstances of life threaten the one thing both Jackson and Kennedy love? Saving Steele from himself may prove to be too much for Cross to bear.

I wanted to read this story so badly since I’ve taken a look at the intriguing blurb. I immediately started with the first book in the Rock Falls series in order to catch up as soon as possible before release day. I loved Jackson from the very beginning and knew after finishing Chasing Rhodes that he was going to be my favorite swoon city hero. There are not enough words to describe how much I loved this beautiful and touching story! It gave me all the feels – from sadness to happiness, from desparation to hope. Saving Steele has stolen my heart and is going straight to my favorites shelf!

We already know from the epilogue of Keeping King that a little boy arrived at Jackson’s door and asked for his dad. Hannah and Jayden are afraid of their friend’s possible reaction to the shocking news. They fear that he might have one of his dark episodes. Jackson is however happy about Ryker’s existence and feels a strong bond between them from the start. He wants to take care of his son and give him the life his poor excuse for a mother was never able to offer him. Jackson’s wonderful parents and friends are supporting him whenever possible. Colt’s sister Kennedy is Ryker’s first grade teacher. Her job and students mean the world to her. She is immediately fond of the smart and incredibly cute boy who happens to have the hottest dad at Rock Falls Elementary school. Jackson is intrigued by his son’s sexy and kind teacher and he wants to get to know her. Soon he will heavily rely on her help with Ryker and the three of them will become inseparable. Their happiness comes to an end when Ryker’s mother shows up and demands her son back. Will Jackson be able to hold himself together with the help of the woman he loves? Or is the depression caused by his mental illness going to swallow him up and render him immobile to do anything to get custody for Ryker and bring him back home?

I absolutely adored Jackson! This man is sexy and swoon-worthy. He is such a caring and loving father. His world was turned upside down when he found out that he has a 6 year old son. And he handled this situation excellently. I loved it that he accepted Kennedy’s quirks and insecurities. He challenged her to leave her safe bubble and to explore the world and everything it has to offer with him. She loved Jackson fiercely and was ready to fight alongside him for Ryker. Kennedy didn’t run away when Jackson had one of his scary episodes. She gave him instead the neccessary comfort and reassurance. They were indeed a well matched couple whose chemistry was off the charts hot! I could gush about Ryker for hours. This little dude was so sweet and adorable!

I recommend this book from the bottom of my heart. You will devour it in just a few hours and enjoy every second of it. Fantastic job Anne Jolin!

About Anne Jolin

Hey y'all..

I was born and raised in Ladner, a small farm town just outside Vancouver, Canada. I grew up riding horses, shooting guns, and driving in trucks.

I never expected to be an author. A massage therapist? Yes. Take over the family construction company? Yes. But an author? No. Writing was something that snuck up on me and rooted itself into my life. It was beautiful to discover that love, and I’m truly grateful to say I’ve found my passion.

Since I’ve always been a creative person, it feels amazing to harness all of that energy and use it to tell a story I love. I enjoy incorporating bits of my real life into the stories I write. What parts are true? Hah. I’ll never tell—what would be the fun in that?

If I could leave y’all with one thing, it’s that life’s far too short to not live it out loud. Drown in your passions, hold on tight to the things that inspire you, and chase your dreams relentlessly. I can promise you without a doubt that you won’t regret it. I know I don’t.

Mad love,
Anne Jolin
