My Review

Rebel Heart by Authors Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland is book two in the Rush Series Duet.

“Round two, here we come.”

When we left Gia and Rush In book one of this series, it was at a very crucial and mind-numbing moment in their story. I mean, I seriously nearly fell over. Holy smokes! What a crazy situation with a side of so screwed up. I was in shock, afraid, and so darn nervous.

“So, my question to you, Gia, is this: will you be uncertain with me?”

Fast forward to the beginning of Rebel Heart…I wanted to throw up. Gah! This cannot be happening. Sweaty palms, clammy skin, rolling stomach. Big girl panties on, protective Kindle case attached, coffee mug full. And it was a go.

“…you’re supposed to be looking at me. And I’m supposed to be looking at you the way I do. Because you’re my person, Rush. And I’m yours.”

But, I was still not prepared for this AT ALL. I wanted to hug Gia throughout most of this story. As much as I loved Rush, a knee to the balls was in order on a few occasions. I had a literal, physical ache in my chest at some of the thoughts conveyed and words spoken. However, Rush being Rush, those moments of anger didn’t last long. Soon I was falling for him fast and hard, and dragging Gia right behind me. These two were destined. And nothing or no one could stand in their way.

“In order to truly move on, you have to stop looking back. I hadn’t even realized that was what I’d been doing until now. But it was.”

Rebel Heart gave us a swift and happy ending to a complicated, but oh so sweet, love story.

About Vi Keeland

Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work. She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!
