Adam destroyed himself to save me. At first, I doubt if I have the strength to go on. But with every second that passes, I seethe and curse the Prophet. My time as a Maiden is over. I refuse to be a toy in his game any longer. But there’s always more ways for the Prophet to get to me, to use me, and to keep me under his influence. Will I be strong enough to break free?

My Review

The Church by Author Celia Aaron is the third and final novel in The Cloister series.

“When I came here, I wanted answers and vengeance. Now—after seeing what the Prophet is capable of—I’ve changed. How could I not? Violence and terror are harsh mistresses that mar everything they touch. Including me.”

Agony, pain, despair, torture. Just within the first two chapters. I knew this was going to be an emotionally challenging novel. The way in which we were left hanging in The Prophet set up the beginning of The Church in such a way that we couldn’t be spared from heartache. That was a given. What was not a given were the crazy turns this story took as it led us to the end.

“I’m not after closure anymore. I’m after blood.”

All of our favorite and most detested characters were present for the last pages of The Cloister series. Adam and Delilah stole the show, giving us strength, fortitude, and a fierce love. They made every part of this journey worth it. But, it was so good to see the exaltation of some and demise of others; this thrilled me, made me smile in delight, and finally gave me the satisfaction for which I had been hoping.

“Desperation can turn anyone into a gladiator.”

The Church was a liberating and suspense-filled novel that had me holding my breath until the end.

About Celia Aaron

Hi, I'm Celia. Nice to meet you. Can you keep a secret?

I write smut. Gritty, dirty, delicious smut. This is a secret we can share. I'll do the writing. You do the reading. We have to keep our relationship quiet because I have a highly respectable day job. At night, I become markedly less respectable, as you will see.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my stories. And remember, it's our secret.
