My Review: The Prophet by Celia AaronThe Prophet by Celia Aaron
Publication Date: May 1, 2018
Genres: Dark, Romance

I can’t save myself from the Cloister, and maybe I never could. The Prophet grows more dangerous by the day. His delusions are steeped in blood, and if I’m not careful, that blood will be my own. Despite the growing risk, I still continue the search for the truth, no matter if the thorny path eventually twists back to Adam, guilt in his dark eyes. I’ve seen glimpses of his soul, and I know there is more to him than the monster, but it’s so hard to reach him. I knew when I came here that I’d have to fight, I just didn’t realize the war would be waged on so many fronts.

My Review

The Prophet by Author Celia Aaron is book two in the Cloister series.  It is a dark romance novel.

“It’s not coincidence. You and me. We’re not…” She sighs against my ear, an angel’s breath warming her demon. “We’d be like this even if we weren’t here. I’d be yours no matter where we were.”

I felt like The Maiden pretty much cured me from having shock of anything that might be done in this series.  However, I should have known that Author Celia Aaron always has one more trick up her sleeve.

“Some delusions are far too strong to be broken.”

I continued to loathe the Prophet.  The very mention of his name or regard for his presence made my blood run cold.  Venomous snake.  Vile excuse for a human.  He made me seething mad!  The pain and torture suffered by this person who thought himself above reproach was disgusting.

“For once in my life, I actually bow my head in prayer and send a request so full of vengeance and retribution that I have no doubt heaven redirects it to a far hotter place.”

In spite of his presence, the prospect of something good and hopeful coming from an unbearable lifestyle held my feet on the ground and my eyes to the page.  Making Delilah and Adam my focal point, I pressed forward into one unexpected twist after another. My head was spinning with each new overwhelming change in direction.  This hero and heroine made my heart ache for them. They were both in a world that neither belonged. But, their draw to one another was so strong that I could taste it, see it, feel it.

“My vengeance is like a storm that forms slowly, the hot earth sending energy into the air as I boil and bubble and grow into a black anvil that will rain hell down on my enemies. My time is coming.”

Author Celia Aaron definitely saved the best for last in The Prophet, giving us an ending that made me scream and cry for book three.

About Celia Aaron

Hi, I'm Celia. Nice to meet you. Can you keep a secret?

I write smut. Gritty, dirty, delicious smut. This is a secret we can share. I'll do the writing. You do the reading. We have to keep our relationship quiet because I have a highly respectable day job. At night, I become markedly less respectable, as you will see.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my stories. And remember, it's our secret.
