Shelby Killin may have lost the Ordeal to Tessa Morganton—a half-blood werewolf her betrothed chose over her—but she has never been one to go down without a fight.

Determined to find a way to gain back her rightful place beside the new Alpha King of the pack, and win back her mother’s pride, she’ll stop at nothing to rectify the situation. Even if it means resorting to asking one of the most powerful witches in all of New Orleans for help.

Jace and his little play thing Tessa had better watch out, because Shelby is about to show them both why it’s best to never leave a lover scorned.

Also included are TWO bonus scenes from Jace’s point-of-view! One from Marked, and one from Chang

I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

My Review

“It is said there are three main emotions: Love, hate, and fear. Some people proclaim it’s from these three emotions all others stem. Their reasoning is they are the most crippling emotions to a person’s soul They hold the power to conquer a person, to make them do things they normally wouldn’t and to break them into a million pieces.”

Scorned is book 2.5 in the Marked Duology series by Author Jennifer Snyder. It is shifter story told from Shelby’s point of view, who has been my favorite love-to-hate-you character.

This book went way too quickly for me. It was so good! It made me crave more and more. I can honestly say that I have detested Shelby in this series; her and her rotten mother. But, this novella brought that rich dislike to the surface with an even greater magnitude. Although short, some fantastic surprises were planted in the pages that made this read one to devour. And, it is quite possible that I had the most minute shift in thinking about Shelby at the end, but let’s not stretch it. Of course, I got to see more of my two favorite people/shifters, Jace and Tessa, and got a great treat from Jace that made me fall more for him and understand his perspective a bit better. I need more from this series, and can’t wait to have it.
