"Tantalizing" —RT Book Reviews on Out of Bounds

Celeste Connor swore that she'd never be a victim again. After the hell of her abusive ex, the last thing she needs is to be under another man's thumb. But when she catches the eye of fiercely dominant Nartan Lupan at her best friend's wedding, Celeste finds herself drawn into a glittering world of wealth and power that has her body aching and her mind reeling.

Nartan is a filthy rich businessman who works hard, plays harder, and doesn't take no for an answer-and he wants Celeste with a hunger he's never before felt. He'll do whatever it takes to have her. But Nartan didn't expect that he'd want still more...

I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Celeste is divorced and has been “jaded” by love. She believes it simply can’t exist.

Nartan is a possessive and controlling man. But not in the way Celeste’s husband was previously…when he wanted something he got it, but with force if necessary. Nartan tends to sweet-talk his way into a woman’s pants.

Upon entering the story we meet our main characters, and take immediately notice to the shift in the air when they are in the same room together.  He wants this time to consume her and get it out of his system. Giving into her infatuation with Nartan, Celeste allows for a brief moment of pleasured exchange, but quickly pulls away, remembering that this is not the path she wants to take.  When our main characters collide once more it is at the wedding of their best friends, and Celeste’s limits are again tested by seeing and experiencing the strong side of Nartan. He challenges her and makes her want for more. We get to experience the beauty of sabra and Tarak’s wedding ritual. Leaving the wedding behind we are whisked away to an Alaskan adventure. This ensues the greatest game of tit-for-tat

Left to her confusion in a moment of Nartan’s frustration, she decides it would be better to just run than stick around and deal with the consequences. Nartan sets out to prove to Celeste that she can trust a man, if it’s him. But, her secrets still tie her to the past. When we are finally given the chance to see their walls tumbling down, it is sweet relief, and nothing can stop their momentum…except for a desperate man who will do anything to get to Celeste. His initial actions tell us about how evil and vindictive he is. We are pressed to realize the actual depths of his treachery. Now trying to pursue a relationship and deal with Celeste’s ex, we watch as our two main characters vie for control. Celeste takes her strong will a little too far and forces the hand of an insane man. We then enter in the final pages as her will is put to this test as well as Nartan’s promise to keep her safe.

I was happy to have been given the opportunity to read Filthy Rich. I liked watching Celeste and Nartan as they played the game of love back and forth. His response to woo her, and her counter to challenge him made the story interesting. At times, the talk during sex was a little too crude and artificial, which seemed to go against the type of relationship Nartan was attempting to build with Celeste.  But, the softer side of their lovemaking made up for this.  Caspian was the perfect villain. Listening to him talk made me cringe. Of course, I always enjoy a good ending, and was overjoyed to be handed that in Filthy Rich.
